"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." "And God said unto Noah . . . Make thee an ark of gopher wood . . . And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of . . . Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he."

"And the children of Israel said unto them . . . ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you." (Exodus 16:35)
